I am on the Ballot
I spent a lot of quality time at the San Diego County Registrar of Voters (ROV) this past week, submitting all the required paperwork, including my candidate statement, and paid the requisite fees. Thank you to everyone who signed my nominating petitions. The ROV confirms that I’ve met the requirements and will be on the ballot. So far there are 5 candidates running for AD75 State Assembly in the March Primary:
Joy Frew (Democrat), Fallbrook
Andrew Hayes (Republican), Lakeside
Jack Fernandes (Republican), San Diego
Kevin Juza (Democrat), Poway
Christie Dougherty (Democrat), Campo
The filing period will be open for another 8 business days. So far only myself and Dougherty have completed the filing requirements.
With three Democrats and two Republicans already announced, it looks like an open fight for the top two on March 5th. May the best woman win!
Out of 309,305 registered voters in AD 75, 30% are registered Democrats. 41% are registered Republicans. 22% decline to state. 5% are American Independent. The other 5% are about evenly split between left and right leaning parties.
Turnout will be the largest factor affecting the final vote.
