Endorsement by California Health Care for All
ENDORSED
The Center for Freethought Equality endorsed me “in recognition of your support for the issues that are important to the atheist and humanist community - secular government, scientific integrity, reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ rights, and civil rights for all Americans.”
From Pew Research Center: “Currently, about three-in-ten U.S. adults (29%) are religious “nones” – people who describe themselves as atheists, agnostics or “nothing in particular” when asked about their religious identity.”
We’re in Year 2 of Enacting Health Care for All
Last year the Governor signed SB770, a bill that “establishes tangible steps on a concrete timeline toward creating a system of guaranteed healthcare for all California residents that will provide better care at lower cost.”
Gov. Newsom’s Commission found that transitioning to unified healthcare financing as envisioned by SB 770 would avert 4,000 deaths per year and by 2031, save $158 billion in public healthcare spending — savings that could be used to eliminate healthcare premiums and copays as well as possibly extending long-term care coverage to all Californians.

Most Americans Support Guaranteed Healthcare
A recent Gallup poll showed a majority of Americans say healthcare is a government responsibility.
Chris Ward (AD78) and myself (AD75) are the only candidates in San Diego County that received the endorsement of Health Care for All, recognizing my longstanding leadership role for Single Payer Health Care. Their mission: “is dedicated to achieving a universal healthcare system through single-payer public financing. Our goal is for all California residents to have guaranteed, high quality, comprehensive health care.”
Healthcare in California should be about health, not massive corporate profits. Not only are we being ripped off, with millions bankrupted, but people’s lives are being put at risk for pharmaceutical execs to buy another yacht. It’s sick.
Healthcare is a human right, not something that should be denied to people without the money to afford medication, a doctor visit, surgery, chemotherapy, mental health treatment, or any other kind of care.
Seniors shouldn’t have to spend hundreds of dollars a month on Medicare supplements to pay for needed care, hundreds of dollars on needed medication and thousands on needed dental care. I’ve also signed on to support the national Medicare for All bill.
